Study Facilities & Environment

Building 17

ABS classes are held on the upper floors of University Building 17, a which was completed in 2012.
Our classrooms sport state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for group discussions, seminars, data analysis and experiential learning projects, greatly enhancing the learning environment.

Relax and chat with other class members in the lounges between classes (access via IC card), or store your belongings in the one of many personal lockers available. The seminar rooms are ideal for small group work, and many current students make good use of them for self-study as well (reservation required in advance).

ABS occupies the 11th and 12th floors, as well as part of the 8th floor. The professional graduate school office, including the office counter, can be found on the 2nd floor.

Joint Study Room Library

The library situated next to the ABS joint study room contains more than 1000 reference books for research and reports, including specialized publications on management, as well as international business magazines.

University Library

The Aoyama Gakuin University Library on the Aoyama Campus, together with the Mandai Memorial Library on the Sagamihara Campus, maintains a collection of 1.72 million books.

Its state-of-the-art control system enables simultaneous searching of the collections at all library facilities, including the Women's Junior College Library, and provides a website to enable searches from any location. It also connects to other services outside the university, such as the National Diet Library, other university libraries and various off-campus information services as well.

Seminars on using library resources, as well as group reading rooms that can function as team research spaces are also available, making the library useful for group study as well.

With its easy access to public transportation, many businesspeople are known to continue using the library after graduation.

At Aoyama Gakuin University, we are constantly striving to improve our education and research. Our aim is to produce an education/research environment that can keep up with the pace of development of an advanced information society. The Aoyama and Sagamihara campus systems are completely integrated, allowing all students and staff access to resources like lecture information via university computer facilities.

Aoyama Campus’ computer facilities, including the information labs and public computer rooms, are equipped with comprehensive security systems. These include an IC card-based ID authentication system as well as unauthorized access surveillance 24 hours a day, ensuring peace of mind.

In addition to the computer facilities noted above, our IT infrastructure allows us to provide a computer room just for ABS in the Graduate School building as well as information terminals for finding employment, enabling a cutting-edge education for all.

In addition to our own equipment, you can also use your own computer to access our network. Bring it on campus, or authenticate it via the internet to use at home.

*Wi-Fi is available for use in the Graduate School building.

Foreign Language Laboratory

The Foreign Language Laboratory is an audio-visual education facility created to improve language education. All students and graduates of this school are allowed.

The AV library is profusely stocked with video educational material and movies. Foreign broadcasting stations such as CNN and BBV can be watched and listened to, and video materials can be used in concert with textbooks for an assortment of foreign language courses.

The CALL classroom is open for self study outside of class time, as well as hosting lectures that use computers. Self-study TOEFL and TOEIC test preparation materials are also available.

Student Cafeteria

The Student Cafeteria can be found on the 1st floor in Building 17 and many students find it an attractive place to relax. It has wide open spaces and is a great place to enjoy the unique, value-for-the-money menu the university offers. With a separate Student Cafeteria and SUBWAY sandwich shop in the basement of Building 7, eating at the university might just become something to look forward to.

ABS students have access to the Fitness Center located on the Aoyama Campus. The center is an environment where students can efficiently invest in both their health and their studies.

Aoyama Gakuin University’s superb location is one of the best features of the Aoyama Business School.

Cafes and shops line the streets of Shibuya, Omotesando, and Harajuku in the areas surrounding the campus. These spots pulse with energy until late into the night. Of course, the vicinity offers more than fun hangout spots. With a wealth of educational institutions such as the United Nations University and cultural facilities both large and small like art museums and galleries, this spot is sure to satisfy a diverse assortment of intellectual interests.

Easy access is another advantage of the Aoyama campus. Aoyama is 10 minutes away on foot from JR Shibuya Station, the nearest train station, and 5 minutes away on foot from the Omotesando Subway Station. Both stations serve multiple lines and students can ride to the National Diet Library without changing trains.
