国際認証EFMD Programme Accreditationの再認証を取得し、日本初となる5年間認証を達成

青山学院大学大学院国際マネジメント研究科（通称：青山ビジネススクール、以下「ABS」）のMBAプログラムは、2025年3月4日、国際的なマネジメント教育の品質評価機械であるEFMD（The European Foundation for Management Development 本部 ベルギー ブリュッセル）による再認証審査に合格し、EFMD programme accreditation認証を取得いたしました。再認証期間につきましては、日本のビジネススクールにおいては初の快挙となる5年間認証を達成いたしました。

認証審査においては、EFMDが定める数多くの基準を満たす必要があります。ABSは、ミッションから、教育制度、教育の質管理、企業とのコラボレーションなどを見直し、現役学生・修了生満足度、教育達成度、教員研究業績評価などを定量化しながら解析、さらに外部評議員や民間企業からの評価も含めて現状を余すことなくも網羅した報告書を作成いたしました。報告書提出の数か月後には、EFMDから派遣された4名の審査員による約3日間にわたる現地査察とインタビューを受け、その総合的な評価は最終的にブリュッセルで開催された本会議にて審査会議に諮られました。厳正な審査の結果、EFMDから日本初となる5年間の再認証期間をいただけることになりました。ABSのMBAプログラムが世界水準の品質であることが国際的に評価されたことになります。今後もMBA教育の質向上に努め、日本におけるビジネス教育に貢献してまいります。

Achieved re-accreditation for the EFMD Programme Accreditation, becoming the first business school in Japan to receive the full 5-year accreditation

The MBA program at the Graduate School of International Management, Aoyama Gakuin University—commonly known as Aoyama Business School (ABS)—successfully passed the re-accreditation review by EFMD (The European Foundation for Management Development, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium), a global quality assurance body for management education. On March 4, 2025, ABS was officially awarded the EFMD Programme Accreditation, achieving a significant milestone as the first business school in Japan to receive the full 5-year re-accreditation.

The EFMD accreditation process requires institutions to meet a wide range of rigorous standards. In preparation, ABS undertook a comprehensive review of its mission, educational systems, quality assurance measures, and collaboration with industry partners. The school also conducted detailed analyses using quantitative data on student and alumni satisfaction, learning outcomes, and faculty research performance. Additionally, external reviews by advisory board members and private-sector representatives were incorporated into a thorough self-assessment report.

A few months after the report submission, a team of four EFMD-appointed peer reviewers conducted a three-day on-site visit, including interviews and observations. The final evaluation was then reviewed and approved by the EFMD Accreditation Board at its plenary session in Brussels.

As a result of this rigorous process, ABS was awarded a 5-year re-accreditation—the first of its kind in Japan—affirming that its MBA program meets global standards of excellence. ABS will continue to enhance the quality of its MBA education and contribute to the advancement of business education in Japan.
