持続的サプライチェーン研究所（CSSC：Center for Sustainable Supply Chains）の細田高道教授の研究が、青山学院大学総合研究所による2024年度SDGs 関連研究補助制度に採択されました。この研究は、昨今の日本国政府による後押しや円安の影響により日本企業が国内生産体制への回帰を進める流れを受け、海外と国内（合計2か所）に生産拠点を持つサプライチェーンにおいて、安定供給、コスト経済性そして持続的社会の実現を同時達成するにはどのように国内外の2拠点を使い分け活用すべきかについて考察し施策を提案することを目的としています。本研究の成果は、昨今の新型コロナウィルスや紛争によるサプライチェーン分断への対応についても応用することが可能であり、安定供給や環境への負荷の視点も加えながら既往の研究が見逃してきたコスト経済性とのトレードオフ関係の発生メカニズムや緩和施策、そして新たな対応方法の存在を見出す可能性があります。研究成果は国内に生産拠点を構えることの意義を新たに見出すことにもなり、生産拠点の国内回帰が進めば長期的には国内製造業の雇用やGDPに良い効果をもたらすことが期待されます。

The Aoyama Gakuin University Research Institute has selected Professor Takamichi Hosoda’s research from the Center for Sustainable Supply Chains (CSSC) for a 2024 SDG-related research grant.

This research examines how supply chains with both overseas and domestic production sources (two sources in total) should be utilised to simultaneously achieve stable supply, cost-effectiveness and the realisation of a sustainable society.

The findings of this research can also be applied to the response to supply chain fragmentation caused by the recent new coronavirus and geopolitical conflicts, helping in the identification of new measures to mitigate cost-economy trade-offs that have been overlooked by previous studies.
The research will also provide new insights on the significance of establishing manufacturing sources in Japan, which may have a long-term positive impact on employment and GDP in the domestic manufacturing industry.
