青山学院大学大学院国際マネジメント研究科（青山ビジネススクール：ABS）の「シビック・エンゲージメント・プロジェクト」（担当：宮副謙司教授）の受講生の中で、1つのグループが、福島県磐梯町の観光活性化をテーマに、同町と福島県内を拠点とする「福島学院大学」を仲介しプロジェクトを組成し、大学生の地域リサーチや観光活性化プランの策定を補助し、町長をはじめとする地元行政へ提案を果たしました。

具体的な活動としては、①福島学院大学の参画調整・学部生グループ編成（2グループ10名）、②磐梯町現地でのフィールドワーク（2023年9月）、③学部生の戦略策定ワークショップ（ABSメンバーが戦略策定やワークショップスキルを活かして学部生のアイデア整理のサポートし、新たな観光コンテンツ企画をリード）（11月オンラインで2回実施）、④磐梯町役場で学部生によるプラン提案中間発表-磐梯町・道の駅ばんだい・磐梯町振興公社・福島学院大学・ABSの各メンバーが参画（12月）、⑤プラン最終報告会と町長からのフィードバック（2024年1月）という流れで、プロジェクトが行われました。

このABSメンバーは、2023年度前期ABS「ビジネスプランニング」授業にて、地方行政と地方大学をつなぐ観光活性化事業化を構想しました。それを後期「シビック・エンゲージメント・プロジェクト」授業において、福島県磐梯町を第1号の対象として実践するべく取り組んだという経緯でした（磐梯町と福島学院大学関係者との顔合わせはABSメンバーの調整により2023年7月に実施）。

今後、磐梯町と福島学院大学学生の関係が継続的なものとなり（関係の自走化をABSメンバーが支援）、磐梯町の観光活性化が進展することが期待されます。

Bandai town, Fukushima Prefecture Tourism Revitalization Project - Community Revitalization Efforts Linking Local Communities and University Students

One group of students who enrolled in the "Civic Engagement Project" led by Professor Kenshi Miyazoe at Aoyama Business School (ABS) has formed a project to revitalize tourism in Bandai town, Fukushima Prefecture, by serving as a focal point between the town and Fukushima Gakuin University (FGU) which is located in Fukushima Prefecture. The group assisted the FGU students in conducting regional research and formulating a tourism revitalization plan, and presenting proposals to the local government, including the town mayor.

Specific activities included: (1) coordination of FGU's participation and formation of undergraduate student groups (2 groups of 10 students), (2) fieldwork in Bandai town(September 2023), (3) FGU students' strategy development workshop (ABS members supported FGU students) (conducted twice online in November), (4) Interim presentation of the plan proposal by FGU students at Bandai town Town Hall - Bandai town members, Roadside Station Bandai and Bandai town Promotion Corporation participated (December), (5) Final report meeting and feedback from the Mayor of Bandai town (January 2024).

This group of ABS students were originally members of students who enrolled in the "Business Planning" course in the first semester of the 2023 academic year, when they conceived a commercialization strategy for a tourism revitalization project that would connect local governments and local universities. In the "Civic Engagement Project" class which was delivered in the second semester, they decided to implement the project in Bandai town as the initial target. The meeting between Bandai town and FGU was held in July 2023, coordinated by ABS members.

In the future, it is expected that the relationship between Bandai town and FGU students to be continued. Also, ABS members will support the self-starting of the relationship, and that the revitalization of Bandai town's tourism will progress.
