亀島川活性化プロジェクト-環境整備活動への参画・河岸遊歩道活性化提案
青山学院大学大学院国際マネジメント研究科（青山ビジネススクール：ABS）の「シビック・エンゲージメント・プロジェクト」（担当：宮副謙司教授）の受講生の中で、1つのグループが、東京都中央区の亀島川賑わい創出協議会（2023年6月設立）が掲げる亀島川テラス設置プロジェクトの支援として、亀島川清掃活動や街歩き活動に参加して地域関係者との交流を図るとともに、同川の河岸遊歩道活性化のプランニングを行いました。
具体的な活動としては、協議会主催の川清掃活動・周辺地区街歩きに参加し地域住民関係者との交流（10-12月）、そこで発見した住民や関係者のニーズや開発の可能性を把握しテラス設置に関しプランを策定し協議会メンバーへ提案しました（1-2月）。

亀島川は、都心のビル街にありますが、川沿いの遊歩道は、水と緑にあふれた空間であり、そこの人が集い交流する場（テラスでの物販やサービスの拠点）や交流の機会（自然・歴史やライフスタイルを楽しむイベントなど）が増えることによって、新しい魅力が創造され、地域全体の活性化につながると期待されます。

Kamejima River Revitalization Project - Participation in Environmental Improvement Activities and Proposal to Revitalize the Riverbank Walkway
One group of students from the students of Graduate School of International Management (Aoyama Business School: ABS), Aoyama Gakuin University's who enrolled in the the "Civic Engagement Project” course taught by Prof. Kenji MIYAZOE participated in the Kamejima River Terrace Project of the Kamejima River Lively Creation Council, which will be established in June 2023, in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. In support of the project, the group participated in Kamejima River cleanup activities and street walking activities to interact with local residents and plan the revitalization of the riverbank promenade.
Specific activities included participating in river cleanup activities and walking tours of the surrounding area organized by the council, interacting with local residents (October-December), identifying the needs of residents and other interested parties and other interested parties, as well as the potential for development, and formulating and proposing a plan for terrace installations to the council members (January-February).
The following events were held: (1) Kamejima River cleanup (October 7) - 2 students participated; (2) Tokyo Biennale 2023 mini-tenmasen event (October 29) - 2 students participated; (3) Kamejima River Mizube Festival (street walking and cleanup activities) (November 18) - 4 students participated; (4) Kamejima River cleanup (December 17) - 4 students participated, etc.
Although the Kamejima River is located in a building district in the heart of the city, the promenade along the river is a space filled with water and greenery, and is a place for to gather and interact (terrace for sales and services) and opportunities for interaction.It is expected that by increasing the number of events enjoying nature, history, and lifestyle, new attractions would emerge, revitalizing the entire area.
